The Great Glen Way(Grade 1 ; 75 miles)Departs Stirling station: 9am. Returns to Stirling station 7pm. This relatively recent long distance path is a relaxed wander, linking the West Highland Way with Inverness, the Highland capital. The Great Glen is a huge fault line along which several
lochs have formed. These include the expansive Loch Lochy and the famous
Loch Ness. Linked by the Caledonian Canal these Lochs slice through the
heart of Scotland. The scenery is also very diverse with pleasant stroll
along canal tow paths contrasting with undulating forest paths. The mountainous
scenery near Fort William and along Loch Lochy gradually softens as the
fertile farmland of the Beauly Firth and Inverness nears. Day 2: Gairlochy to Laggan ( 12 miles) Day 3: Laggan to Fort Augustus (12 Miles) Day 4: Fort Augustus to Alltsigh (Loch Ness) (12 Miles) Day 5: Alltsigh to Abriachan (14 miles) Day 6: Abriachan to Inverness (12 miles) Book Now!
